Arkansas crops: 67% rice, 34% soybeans planted

Significant planting progress has been made across Arkansas this past week.  Eighty-six percent of the corn crop has been planted and 67 percent of the crop emerged and 74 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Sixty-seven percent of rice has been planted with 42 percent emerged, with 72 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.

Thirty-four percent of soybeans have been planted, 19 percent emerged.  Twenty-six percent of cotton has been planted and 10 percent has emerged.

Forty-six percent of peanuts have been planted and 15 percent emerged. 

Eighty-three percent of the winter wheat crop has headed, and 52 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Nineteen percent of the hay crop has had its first cutting and 50 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

99 percent of Topsoil and 96 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
