Another sale of U.S. corn to China

Strong demand for U.S. corn from China continued Thursday morning.

The USDA says China bought 178,000 tons for delivery this marketing year, the 12th of the last 13 business days with a reported sale of U.S. corn.

The running total is now 3,382,800 million tons, with almost all of that to China. The sale reported Monday, March 27th to unknown destinations could turn out to be China when it’s time for delivery.

U.S. corn is dominating the export market due to a price advantage and short supplies for other major sellers. The current marketing year runs through the end of August.

The USDA’s next set of supply and demand estimates is out April 11th.
