American Angus awards

Angus

The American Angus Association recently recognized a couple of producers who have been raising Angus for more than a century. Honored at the Angus National Convention in Kansas City were:

  • Laflin Angus of Kansas and Nebraska. The family operation can trace its roots back to 1799 but started with Angus in 1900
  • Dahl Angus of South Dakota started their Angus herd in 1897. The operation is now in its seventh generation.

Four new members were also inducted into the Angus Heritage Foundation in recognition of their contributions to advancing the Angus breed. Honored this year were Paul Donnelly, Kansas City, Missouri; Don Greiman, Garner, Iowa; the late Bob Laflin, Olsburg, Kansas; and Lawrason Sayre, Churchville, Maryland.
