Ag trade caucus formed in U.S. House

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers are working together to help boost agricultural exports.

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson tells Brownfield the new Congressional Agricultural Trade Caucus can advance policies vital to U.S. agriculture.

“This administration has been slow to get moving on any trade deals,” she said. “We need to be focused on expanding markets for American producers, and that is the way I think we can show China our eggs are not all in one basket with you. We have diversity in trade.”

The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield knocking down trade barriers will be a priority. “It’s a great thing for our manufacturers and our agricultural producers who have great products to sell, superior products, to many around the world and countries want to buy them.”

The caucus was launched by Republicans Dusty Johnson of South Dakota and Adrian Smith of Nebraska, along with California Democrats Jim Costa and Jimmy Panetta.
