Acres and Avenues season two

A+A 2

The dairy checkoff has launched their second season of an online video series as part of June Dairy Month.

Jessica Learman with the checkoff tells Brownfield ‘Acres and Avenues’ takes an urban millennial to a dairy farm and a dairy farmer to the city.  “Christine is a lot like our millennial target, which is kind of the idea.  She likes food, is really interested in food, but doesn’t know a lot about where it comes from.”

The episode ‘Urban Tattoos Meets Modern Farm Technology’ takes a tattoo artist and hair stylist to a Virginia dairy farm which has been operated by the same family for more than 200 years.  “She said at one point at the end of the experience that if anyone had told her that cows were mistreated, she’d have to personally correct them because she felt jealous of the cows and the vacation life they had on the Flory’s farm.”

The next episode will be released June 22nd which takes a D.J. to a Florida dairy farm.

Learman tells Brownfield the first season generated more than 5 million views.
