80% of Ohio corn, 65% of soybeans planted

Corn and soybean planting progress progressed slowly in Ohio last week.

According to the latest USDA crop and weather report, 80 percent of corn is planted, and 66 percent has emerged.  

Soybeans are 65 percent planted, and 45 percent have emerged.

Corn is 39 percent good to excellent and soybeans are 30 percent good to excellent.

Hay and other forages continued to be cut slowly. Pastures were reported as 46 percent good to excellent.
