5% of Ohio corn, 4% of soybeans planted

The USDA says excessive rainfall continued to slow planting progress in Ohio last week.

Five percent of corn is planted, compared to 26 percent one year ago.

Four percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the one-year average of 20 percent.

Fifty-three percent of oats are planted, and 26 percent have emerged.

Fifty-six percent of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent.
