24% of Michigan corn, 64% of soybeans harvested

The USDA says wet and cool conditions delayed some fieldwork last week in Michigan.  

Ninety-one percent of corn is mature and 24 percent harvested with condition improving five points to 57 percent good to excellent. 

Soybeans are 97 percent mature and 64 percent harvested with condition improving two points to 67 percent good to excellent.

Eighty-one percent of winter wheat is planted, and 45 percent is emerged.

Apple harvest progressed quickly with growers reporting strong demand for apples at farm stands, u-pick apples, and farmers markets.
