2021 Mo State Fair plans underway for a full fair

Planning for the 2021 Missouri State Fair this year is underway after the 2020 fair was scaled back to a livestock only show because of the pandemic.

State Fair spokeswoman Keri Mergen tells Brownfield fair officials are in close contact with state and local health officials who are reporting a decrease in COVID cases as more people become vaccinated.

“We are full steam ahead with our planning and hoping to bring what we consider a full traditional fair to Missouri August 12th through 22nd in Sedalia.”

Mergen says it is good news for all fairgoers including ag youth in 4H and FFA, “We were so lucky last year that they were flexible and stuck with us as we navigated through all the changes from last year. Those folks had, you know, less than 30 days to really kind of make some big adjustments when we did pivot to the livestock show. So, I know they are looking to getting back to a sense of normal.”

Mergen says this year’s State Fair will have Bicentennial Exhibits in addition to the regular livestock showing, concerts, midway carnival and tractor pulls.
