Milk futures mostly lower, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange continued to fall in front-month contracts Friday while the second half of the year showed some positive movement, cash markets were mixed.

July Class III milk down seven cents at $16.98. August down 19 cents at $16.79. September unchanged at $17.31. October up a penny at $18.05. November through January contracts three cents lower to six cents higher.

Dry whey up $0.0025 at $0.5375.

Blocks down $0.03 at $1.6150. One sale was made at that price.

Barrels down $0.06 at $1.44. Thirteen sales were made from $1.44 to $1.45.

Butter down $0.0075 at $1.6775. One sale was made at that price.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.0175 at $1.2225. Three sales were made from $1.24 to $1.2525.
