Milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange turned lower Thursday taking back early week gains and position squaring ahead of Friday’s USDA supply and demand report.

June Class III milk down 15 cents at $15.15. July 46 cents lower at $16.07. August down 29 cents at $17.08. September 40 cents lower at $17.79. October through December contracts 18 to 35 cents lower.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.2750. Six sales were made at that price.

Blocks down $0.05 at $1.4725. Five sales were made from $1.4725 to $1.52.

Barrels down $0.0825 at $1.57. Four trades were made from $1.57 to $1.6525.

Butter up $0.01 at $2.37. Three trades were made at $2.3675 and $2.37.

Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.1625.
