Milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed

In Class III trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were supported by strong follow through buying after Tuesday’s GDT connected gains. August was up $.01 at $17.00, September was $.34 higher at $17.73, October was up $.33 at $17.44, and November was $.24 higher at $16.99.

Over in the spot market, cash cheese blocks were $.04 higher at $1.82. There were a total of seven trades reported, from two at $1.78 to one at $1.82. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.83. Barrels were steady at $1.865. The last uncovered offer was for one load at that price.

Butter was down $.0375 at $2.2025. There were seven trades reported, including five at $2.20 and one at $2.2025. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $2.20. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $2.21.

Nonfat dry milk was up $.0225 at $.865 with one load sold at that price. There were two unfilled bids, also at .865. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $.875.
