Milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were higher Wednesday ahead of a slightly bullish milk production report while cash markets were mixed.

June Class III milk up a penny at $14.95. July 41 cents higher at $15.78. August up 34 cents at $16.63. September 25 cents higher at $17.65. October through December contracts six to 15 higher.

Dry whey up $0.0025 at $0.2275. Nine sales were made from $0.2675 to $0.2750.

Blocks up $0.0225 at $1.40. Four trades were made from $1.3750 to $1.3925.

Barrels unchanged at $1.51. One sale was made at that price.

Butter down $0.0025 at $2.3475. One sale was made at that price.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0050 at $1.15. One sale was made at that price.
