CME milk futures mixed, cash dairy steady to higher Tuesday

Milk futures were mixed and the cash dairy markets were mostly higher except for butter Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

October Class III milk was down $0.03 at $16.85.  November was down $0.17 at $17.33.  December was down $0.10 at $17.59.  January was down $0.06 at $17.92.  February through August contracts ranged from unchanged in April, May, June, and August to five cents higher in July.   

Dry whey was up $0.0075 at $0.31.  Four sales were recorded, ranging from $0.31 to $0.3125. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks remained unchanged at $1.7025 with no sales recorded for a second straight day. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.0325 at $1.61.  Two sales were recorded at $1.6025 and $1.6075. 

Butter was down $0.02 at $3.48.  Two sales were recorded at $3.48 and $3.4850. 

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.1850.  No sales were recorded.
