CME milk futures mixed, cash dairy lower Tuesday

Milk futures were mixed and the cash dairy markets were lower except for butter Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

December was up $0.02 at $16.40.  January was down $0.01 at $16.52.  February was unchanged at $17.05.  March Class III milk was up $0.05 at $17.71. April through October contracts ranged from unchanged in September and October to eight cents lower in April.   

Dry whey was down $0.0050 at $0.3975. Two sales were recorded at $0.3975 and $0.40. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.01 at $1.59.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0150 at $1.4950.  No sales were recorded. 

Butter was up $0.0125 at $2.53.  Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $2.5150 to $2.53. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.02 at $1.1725.  One sale was recorded at that price.
