CME milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed Wednesday

Milk futures were mostly lower and cash dairy prices were mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Wednesday.

September Class III milk was down $0.20 at $20.67.  October closed down $0.18 at $20.80.  November was down $0.18 at $21.46.  December was down $0.06 to $21.22.  January through July contracts ranged from eighteen cents lower in January to ten cents higher in June. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.45.  No sales were recorded.

Cheese blocks were down $00.0125 at $1.8775.  Cheese Barrels were unchanged for a second straight session at $1.9475 and for a second straight day, no sales were recorded for either blocks or barrels. 

Butter went up $0.0275 recovering Tuesday’s losses closing at $2.99.  Four sales were recorded from $2.9625 to $2.99.

Nonfat dry milk closed up $0.0075 at $1.5350. Nine sales were recorded from $1.5350 to $1.54.
