CME milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed Thursday

Milk futures were mostly higher and cash dairy prices were mixed Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

May Class III milk was up $0.11 at $17.46.  June was up $0.13 at $18.01.  July was up $0.16 at $18.56.  August was up $0.16 at $19.16.  September through March contracts ranged from one cent lower in December to five cents higher in November and January.

Dry whey was down $0.0275 at $0.3550.  Eight sales were made from $0.3550 to $0.37.

Cheese blocks were down $0.0150 at $1.7450.  Ten sales were recorded from $1.7450 to $1.76.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0150 at $1.5450.  Twenty-two sales were recorded from $1.54 to $1.55.

Butter was down $0.0075 at $2.3950.  Four sales were recorded from $2.4025 to $2.4050.

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.16.  No sales were recorded.
