CME milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed Monday

Milk futures were higher again in the near term and cash dairy markets were mixed Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

October Class III milk was up $0.02 at $16.88.  November was up $0.14 at $17.50.  December was up $0.12 at $17.69.  January was up $0.02 at $17.98.  February through August contracts ranged from unchanged in March, April, June, July, and August to three cents lower in February.   

Dry whey was up $0.0050 at $0.3025.  Seven sales were recorded, ranging from $0.3025 to $0.3075. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.7025.  No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.5775.  No sales were recorded. 

Butter took its first lost in well over a week, down $0.0025 at $3.50.  No sales were recorded. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0050 at $1.1850.  Two sales were recorded at that price.
