CME milk futures down, cash dairy up Tuesday

Milk futures were mostly down in the near term and cash dairy prices were mostly higher with one exception Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

September Class III milk was up $0.04 at $19.93.  October closed down $0.06 at $21.61.  November was down $0.28 at $21.77.  December was down $0.31 to $21.76.  January through July contracts ranged from twelve cents lower in January to fourteen cents higher in June. 

Dry whey was up $0.04 at $0.4975.  Two sales were recorded at $0.4975 and $0.50.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0475 closing at $2.00.  One sale was recorded at that price.

Cheese Barrels were up $$0.0750 at $2.06. Four sales were recorded from $2.0350 to $2.06.

Butter was up $0.07 at $3.24.  Nine sales were recorded from $3.17 to $3.25.

Nonfat dry milk was the only product losing value Tuesday, down $0.0125 to $1.5750.  Two sales were recorded from $1.5750 to $1.58.
