CME milk futures down, cash dairy prices up Friday

Milk futures were mostly lower in the near term and cash dairy prices were higher Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

May Class III milk was down $0.14 at $17.32.  June was unchanged at $18.01.  July was down $0.01 at $18.55.  August was down $0.06 at $19.10.  September through March contracts ranged from unchanged in November to four cents higher in December.

Dry whey was up $0.0075 at $0.3625.  Seven sales were made at that price.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0050 at $1.75.  Seven sales were recorded from $1.7475 to $1.7550.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0075 at $1.5525.  Twenty-three sales were recorded from $1.5475 to $1.56.

Butter was up $0.0050 at $2.40.  Six sales were recorded from $2.40 to $2.4225.

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0050 at $1.1650.  Three sales were recorded at that price.
