CME milk futures & cash dairy prices closed lower Thursday

Milk futures and cash dairy prices were lower except for butter Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

May Class III milk was down $0.06 at $16.46.  June was down $0.28 at $16.91.  July was down $0.24 at $17.63.  August was down $0.13 at $18.41.  September through April contracts ranged from unchanged in April to seven cents lower in October.

Dry whey was down $0.0025 at $0.30.  Two sales were recorded at $0.30 and $0.3025.

Cheese blocks were down $0.0525 at $1.6175.  Six sales were recorded from $1.61 to $1.63.

Cheese barrels were down $0.0325 at $1.5050.  Five sales were recorded from $1.50 to $1.5050.

Butter was up $0.0125 at $2.4075.  There were two bids, but no sales were recorded.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.01 at $1.17.  Two sales were recorded at $1.17 and $1.1750.
