CME milk futures, cash dairy mostly down Thursday

Milk futures were mostly down and cash dairy prices were down except for cheese barrels Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October Class III milk was up $0.09 at $21.94.  November was down $0.11 at $20.81.  December was down $0.24 at $20.50.  January was down $0.20 to $20.30.  February through August contracts ranged from seven cents lower in May to eight cents higher in July. 

Dry whey was down $0.0050 at $0.44.  One sale was recorded at that price.

Cheese blocks were down $0.0225 closing at $1.9675.  One sale was recorded at $1.98.

Cheese Barrels were up $0.0450 at $2.2450. Five sales were recorded from $2.21 to $2.2450.

Butter was down $0.02 at $3.1450.  Five sales were recorded from $3.1450 to $3.1525.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0125 at $1.55.  Four sales were recorded from $1.55 to $1.5575.
