CME milk futures, cash dairy lower Wednesday

Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were steady to lower Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

December Class III milk was down $0.05 at $16.35.  January was down $0.08 at $16.44.  February was down $0.07 at $16.98.  March was down $0.09 at $17.62. April through October contracts ranged from six cents higher in July to four cents lower in May, August, and September.  

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.3975. No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.59.  No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0550 at $1.44.  Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $1.44 to $1.4925. 

Butter was down $0.03 at $2.50.  Five sales were recorded, ranging from $2.4925 to $2.51. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0125 at $1.1850.  Three sales were recorded at that price.
