Seedsmanship at work

Ryan Grable and Casey Rush at #Classic16Ryan Grable, Channel Seedsman and Casey Rush, Manager for H.K. Rush Farms, both of Troy, Kansas consider themselves to be partners on the farm.  During a conversation with Brownfield Ag News at 2016 Commodity Classic, Grable said the slogan “Seedsmanship at work” is a year-long commitment to growers that covers emergence, vegetative, reproductive phases and maturity stages of the crops.

Channel seedsmen have an eye on product performance, insect, weed and disease pressure.  Ryan Grable tells Brownfield that whatever he can do to help Casey make better management decisions, he will do.  When placing Channel product on Casey’s farm, he has helped give it the best opportunity for yield potential.

For Casey Rush, Ryan Grable is a much needed extra set of eyes on the farm. Rush said Grable makes the time to scout the fields, identify pests and disease pressure that he might not have time to do at the level it needs to be done.

Trust is a big part of the partnership.  It is key for Grable to knowing the challenges on the farm and to understand each acre.
