Cover crops conserve soil for next generation

Robert Alpers, Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council Research Chairman, participates in the Council’s soybean strip trails and has planted cereal rye cover crops on his Prairie Home farm to control erosion. Alpers says he keeps planting cover crops not so much to increase yield performance as to farm with his sights set on succeeding generations. More on that in this week’s Spotlight on Soybeans.
