Corn maturity takes big jump in Missouri

Missouri crops got some much needed rain last week – over an inch and a half statewide.  Corn maturity took a jump to 36 percent, 12 percentage points ahead of last year at this time.  Eighty-four percent of Missouri corn is rated good to excellent.

Nine percent of soybeans had dropped leaves as of Sunday, well ahead of the average.  Missouri soybeans are 73 percent in good to excellent shape.

Rice harvest is five percent completed, below average.  Cotton bolls opening progressed to 22 percent, below the average of 37 percent.
