ISU studying heat stress in poultry

Iowa State animal scientists will be studying heat stress in poultry over the next five years through USDA supported research.  Sue Lamont, an ISU distinguished professor of Animal Science, says scientists at University of Delaware are leading the study along with Iowa State, North Carolina State, the University of Liverpool and Hy-Line Internatioal, the largest breeder of egg laying chickens in the nation, which is based in Iowa. She says they’ll be working on how to produce poultry that can thrive in hot climates.
