More analysis of the quarterly hogs and pigs report

The Pork Checkoff hosted a news media conference call following the USDA’s quarterly hogs and pigs report on Friday.  The teleconference featured three agricultural economists and their reactions to the report.  The panel included Eric Rosa, ag economist, Livestock Marketing Information Center, Lakewood, Colorado; Daniel Bluntzer, director of research for Frontier Risk Management, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Altin Kalo, economist, Steiner Consulting, Manchester, New Hampshire.  Following are the opening comments from each of those individuals, preceded by a review of the numbers by Paragon Economics’ Steve Meyer.
