Doubling grass production yields with proper pasture management
As feed prices continue to increase, many cattlemen are placing a greater emphasis on better pasture management to help curb rising feed costs and boost profitability. At the recent Cattle Industry Convention in Denver, we visited with Craig Alford, range, pasture and invasives portfolio manager with DuPont Crop Protection. Alford discussed how cattlemen can make their pastures work harder with a systematic approach—and he says, in some cases, they can double their grass production yields with proper pasture management and proactive weed control.
