Gold’n Plump expands Wisconsin plant

A 22,000 square foot expansion of the Gold’n Plump facilities in Arcadia is underway. Director of Operations at the plant, Bill Petz told the Arcadia City Council excavation is underway; crews should be setting walls by June or July with completion by the end of this year. The addition will take the plant’s capacity to 970,000 birds per week completing an expansion project which began with the construction of a state-of-the-art hatchery in Independence in 2006.

There are currently 122 growers that supply the plant, Petz says the expansion will mean the addition of more than 20 new family farm partners with barn construction continuing into the fall of 2011.

Gold’n Plump bought the former Arcadia Fryers facility in 1993.
