Corn planting way ahead in Illinois

Over a third of Illinois growers have their corn planted. Jim Reed tells Brownfield in his area of east-central Illinois they’re ahead of when they even started to plant last year, “There are a lot of people around here where April 24th was the start date last year. And, here we are the 20th and a significant amount of people are already done.”

Reed is the vice president of Illinois Corn Growers and farms in Monticello.
