Agribusiness leader blasts cap and trade proposal

Devastating. That’s how a top official of Ag Processing Incorporated (AGP) describes the impact that proposed climate change legislation will have on his company.  Referring to the so-called Waxman-Markey bill in the House of Representatives, AGP’s senior vice president of corporate and member relations, Mike Maranell, says higher energy prices and the carbon tax would cost AGP ten million dollars in the first year and over 70 million dollars per year by 2050.
