Missouri precipitation below normal, heat above normal

Heat combined with less rain allowed for haying progress. Precipitation averaged about a half inch statewide. Topsoil moisture is 79 percent adequate to surplus.  More than a third of the corn is in the dough stage and the crop is 74 percent good excellent. Soybeans 58 percent in the bloom and 21 percent in pod setting.  The crop is 68 percent good to excellent.  A third of Bootheel cotton is setting bolls.  Pastures are 56 percent good to excellent.
