Illinois corn 82 percent good to excellent

It was hot, but rain kept Illinois crops in good condition this past week. High humidity and rain hampered efforts to bale hay.  Precipitation averaged just over 2 inches. Topsoil moisture 93 percent adequate to surplus. Corn is 90 percent silked and 18 percent in the dough stage.  The crop is 82 percent good to excellent.  Three-quarters of the soybeans are blooming and a third are setting pods. The soybean crop is 77 good to excellent.  The Illinois oats harvest is half done.  Illinois pastures are 76 percent good to excellent.
