Missouri farmers make progress on cutting wheat

Farmers made good progress cutting wheat and haying this past week despite some rainfall across the state.  Topsoil moisture is 49 percent adequate to surplus. Corn is 20 percent silked, and the crop is 63 percent good to excellent. Soybean planting is 96 percent complete, compared to 59 percent last year and 87 percent for the 5-year average. Soybeans are 6 percent in the bloom, and the crop is 57 percent good to excellent. Cotton squaring is 57 percent complete. Winter wheat harvest is 82 percent complete. Missouri pastures are 47 percent good to excellent.
