Illinois corn planting two-thirds complete

Rain slowed Illinois planting progress and kept producers out of the field this past week. Topsoil moisture is 97 percent adequate to surplus.  Illinois grower have two-thirds of the state’s corn in the ground, up 24 percentage points from last week.  A quarter of the crop is up.  Illinois soybeans are 9 percent planted. Winter wheat is 29 percent headed, up 27 percentage points from last week, and the crop is 68 percent good to excellent. Oats planting is 90 percent done.  Pastures are 82 percent good to excellent.
