Blunt shows water map before override attempt

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt, who supports the bill to stop the EPA’s Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS), showed a map of Missouri on the Senate floor just before the attempt to override the president’s veto of the bill, “Only the 99.7% of the state that’s shown here in red would suddenly be under the jurisdiction of the EPA on all things related to water.”

Blunt says no city, homeowner or farmer is safe from the WOTUS rule, “I think the 3/10s of one-percent may be some kind of unusual seepage area where the water runs away in a way that the EPA hasn’t yet figured out to assert jurisdiction over.”

The veto override attempt failed (this morning) in the Senate by eight votes.  The Clean Water Act/Waters of the US rule is on temporary hold in federal court.
