ISDA awards grants to grow specialty crops

The Indiana State Department of Agriculture awarded five grants to further develop and enhance the competitiveness of the state’s specialty crops.

The projects that received funding are Growing Places Indy’s Perennial Specialty Crop project, Purdue University’s Bacterial Spot of Tomatoes project, Purdue’s Indiana Hops project, ISDA’s Indiana Grown project, and Indiana University’s Specialty Crops and High Tunnels project.

The over $400,000 in funding came from USDA Agricultural Marketing Service’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.
