PneuTrac combines conventional tire and track characteristics
The Mitas PneuTrac concept tire fits on a conventional tractor tire rim, but has the characteristics of a track. Mitas Engineer Norberto Herbener tells Brownfield the tire behaves like a track.
“We have a larger footprint, better traction, less compaction, and also advantages that we can go with very low pressure,” said Herbener, “and this low pressure allows us a better ride comfort.”
The concept tire was demonstrated frequently at the Farm Progress Show, but is not yet available on the market. “Once we have all this tweak done,” said Herbener, “we’re going to be introducing it.”
