Two more Nebraska counties are ‘Livestock Friendly’
Two more Nebraska counties have earned the state’s “Livestock Friendly County” designation.
Howard and Hamilton are the 33rd and 34th counties to qualify for the program, which give counties an extra tool to encourage the expansion of current livestock operations and attract new businesses.
Counties wishing to apply for the Livestock Friendly designation must hold a public hearing and the county board must pass a resolution to apply. A completed application must be submitted to Nebraska Department of Agriculture.
