Monsanto drops bid for Syngenta
Monsanto has dropped its $46 billion bid for Syngenta.
In a news release, Monsanto says that while they believe the proposal would provide value for shareholders of both companies, Monsanto instead will continue to focus on its core business. The company also confirmed they will resume the implementation of its approved share repurchase program as soon as practical.
