Clean Water Rule takes effect August 28

Barring an injunction, which has been requested by Missouri attorney general Chris Koster, the Clean Water Rule (formerly known as “Waters of the U.S.”) will go into effect on August 28th.

So what does that mean to farmers and ranchers? What about the lawsuits challenging the rule—do they have much chance of success? We put those questions to Kristen Hassebrook, vice president of legal and regulatory affairs for Nebraska Cattlemen.
