It’s all about education

Education is an important purpose for any fair. Right in the middle of the livestock barns at the Wisconsin State Fair one can find a collection of educational sites including the Badgerland Barnyard Adventure and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture’s Farm & Family Building. Alice in Dairyland Teyanna Loether can often be found in the area. “Agriculture is really the heart and soul of the fair,” says Loether as she welcomes the opportunity to talk to attendees.

After taking some time to autograph an “Alice” poster for a young fairgoer, she talks about her other duties at the fair including a daily turn in front of the glassed-in milking parlor at the dairy barn. “Explaining the process and the safety and quality of the milk that is in the grocery stores.” Each day will also find her doing an educational demonstration at the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.
