The House has passed Trade Adjustment Assistance.  On a 268-138 vote, the House agreed to the Amendment passed on a voice vote by the Senate on Wednesday.  Only six Democrats voted against the measure which their party tanked two weeks ago.

The House also agreed 251-176 to the resolution extending the African Growth and Opportunity Act facilitating trade with sub-Saharan countries.

The package now goes to the President along with the Trade Promotion Authority bill passed by the Senate on Wednesday.

A bill to strengthen the customs process was sent to a conference committee to work out some differences with the Senate.

Congress is scheduled to leave for a week-long Fourth of July recess on Friday.
