The executive director of the Minnesota Biofuels Association will be testifying at the EPA hearing on the Renewable Fuels Standard Thursday.  Tim Rudnicki  says he intends on pointing out a pattern of capitulation to the petroleum industry.

“They’re (EPA) latest excuse, as set forth in their regulatory announcement that came out in May, was there is some concern about the infrastructure and its ability to handle more biofuels.”

He tells Brownfield the National Renewable Energy lab conducted a study to assess the compatibility of fuel storage and dispensing systems.

“Their conclusion was that virtually all of the current infrastructure is compatible with at least E15.  That means there’s absolutely no excuse for the Environmental Protection Agency to backslide on the renewable volume obligations.”

Rudnicki says the U.S. has the infrastructure and capacity to meet or exceed the original RFS targets, and he will ask the EPA to adhere to what he calls “the black letter law.”
