CHS acquires second Illinois ethanol plant

CHS Propane terminal

Farmer-owned cooperative and energy company CHS has acquired Patriot Renewable Fuels ethanol plant form Patriot Holdings, LLC.  This is the second Illinois ethanol plant CHS has purchased.  The Annawan facility produces 125 million gallons of ethanol annually.

Gene Griffith president and CEO of Patriot Holdings says CHS has marketed the plant’s distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGs) and ethanol products and is the right fit to take the business to the next level.

Once the acquisition is complete, the facility will be rebranded as CHS.
