Ethanol promotion planned for Nebraska FFA Convention

american ethanol race carThe Nebraska Corn Board will promote the benefits of ethanol during the Nebraska State FFA Convention, which gets underway Wednesday in Lincoln.

FFA’ers will able to visit an interactive Biofuels Mobile Education Center provided by the Corn Board.  The American Ethanol No. 3 Chevrolet SS driven by NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Austin Dillon will also be on display.

Emily Thornburg, director of communications for the Corn Board, says it’s a great opportunity to reach 4,000 future drivers.

“They’re going to be the ones that are making their fuel decisions down the road and so we just want to get out there and educate them about ethanol,” Thornburg says.  “To help them realize that by fueling up with ethanol they’re supporting producers in Nebraska and across the United States—and it’s not only good for their car, but it’s good for the environment and for job security.”

The Corn Board is partnering with American Ethanol, the Nebraska Ethanol Board and Omaha-based ethanol producer Green Plains in the promotion.
