Building relationships with Congressmen
Building relationships is how one County President describes his trip to Washington, D.C.
For Matt Bell of Muskingum County, his first trip to Washington, D.C. as a County Farm Bureau President the value of being in the nation’s Capital is being able to sit down with his Congressman to talk about the issues. For Matt, his hill visit was to Congressman Pat Tiberi’s office.
“Congressman Tiberi and Ohio Farm Bureau and agriculture as a whole have a very good relationship,” said Bell. “They understand our issues, Congressman Tiberi was one of the instrumental parts in Section 179 and the estate tax repeal and very supportive on trade issues.”
Before heading home, Ohio Farm Bureau County Presidents wrapped up their trip to Washington, D.C. with a visit to U.S. EPA for an EPA Water Quality briefing.
