New Purdue animal science building top priority

One of the goals for Purdue University’s College of Agriculture in 2015 is to upgrade the facilities in the animal science department.  Jay Akridge, Purdue’s Dean of the College of Agriculture says Purdue is in the process of asking the Indiana General Assembly for funding.

But, he says, it is still early.  “In general, it is positive,” he says.  “That facility is Purdue’s top capital project.  In our president’s testimony on the Purdue budget, he certainly emphasized the importance of that building which is a critical starting point for us – to have the University behind it.  We’ve brought our part of the funding to the table and we’re optimistic that if the budget allows – we’ll get that building funded.”

Akridge adds there is a lot to be done between now and when the decision by the General Assembly will be made.
