Thirty-inch drain from Bill Heffernan's upland pond in MissouriThe USDA has launched a new conservation program that involves a regional, partnership approach. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says it is unprecedented…

“This is indeed a new era in conservation and I think it marks a significant opportunity in this country to significantly increase investment in conservation and obtain the benefits of better soil health, water quality and quantity, and, better habitat as a result.”

More than 100 projects are being funded in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and each one has multiple partners that Vilsack says will match the funding by at least dollar-to-dollar.

Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) projects will share $372 Million in funds plus matching funds.
